Welcome to Fractal Top
Home of the Fractal Top fractal generator Welcome to the third incarnation of Fractal Top (formerly known as JavaQuat). I'm just beginning the updates. Here you can see the old fractals that have been here for 20 years, see some of my new Mandelbrot and other pictures, and at some point you will be able to download my Fractal Top program which will allow you to explore the Mandelbrot Set, Julia Sets, and much more. Fractal Top version 3.4.10 and later offer some major enhancements including "infinite" zoom and corrected bounds on the Mandelbrot and MandelCube loop, as well as a note on what this means. Also the documentation will be updated for the new features. Unfortunately, I don't have infinite time and this is all going to take a while to complete. At this writing the date is Sept. 19, 2022. I'm aiming for the end of the year to be done here. Fractal Top is being enhanced at the same time. Version 3.5.3 will probably the first version available here. I'm finishing up an enhancement for version 3.5.1 now and there's another planned for 3.5.2. Version 3.5.3 will fix any bugs uncovered while updating the documentation. The Fractal Top applet is still compiled but I don't believe most browsers support applets anymore. An alternative way to run Fractal Top may be added when everything else is done.
If you are interested in having a fractal you can frame and hang on the wall, you will have to look elsewhere for a while. The free software that will provided here has been used to create fractals 4 by 8 feet at 300 pixels per inch and you can make them any size you like.
Comments, suggestions, and bug reports are all very welcome. I enjoy hearing
from fractal enthusiasts.
